I believe one of the biggest problems with the way negotiations went in the past was the lack of open communication between the negotiation team and the members.

I believe we as members need to demand some kind of structured information distribution system so all station thru out the system can get the same information.

I believe there were serious deficiency's in the voting procedures carried out in the last two votes at CAL.

There needs to be a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) written and distributed to the membership explaining the EXACT way the vote WILL happen.

Everyone needs to have the same amount of review time and if there is ANY discrepancy with the procedures a voided vote should occur.

There needs to be traceability in the vote if it's returned via mail.

In a general election I placed my ballot in the machine.

I DEMAND to know my vote was counted!

I raised these points at the last local union meeting.

Quote:
I encourage the BA, Local Presidents and Division Head to look into using the Delivery Confirmation System the USPS has. At $.36 additional cost the members can track and confirm delivery of their vote. This would also include the tracking of the member’s ballot to the respected member’s home.
An electric bar code can be printed on each envelope by the Teamsters, a local printer or by the USPS itself with no additional cost. USPS pub 91 has all the technical information on Confirmation services and I have a copy of it if you care to look at it.

The member could go to the USPS website and verify the receipt of their vote to the PO Box.
I also demand that the USPS “buy” off on label placement of our ballot system. I demand that this should be issued in a letter to the director from the USPS prior to mailing.

Lets see where it goes anim_smoke.gif
