Seems like I talk to myself on this site. I'm getting really frustrated anim_pissed.gif with the lack of response this site gets. It was designed to allow a conduit for ideas, understanding and networking of A&P techs.

I know these guys love to talk about stuff, and this damn industry is certainly not stable and one that big events never happen in.

So my latest beef is this.

I was sent a email today that outlined what I thought was a big interest in the aviation community right now.
This is the dumping of pension plans. This post

http://planedoctor.com/pd/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=492&sid=e31386f4f3f89fc8b7887c3f91dddfb3#492
talks about it.

Now the thing I don't understand is:
WHY DIDN'T THE IBT PICK UP ON THIS STORY.
I went to the teamsters website, did searches, look in Government Affairs ect and found not one word about this.

Shouldn't a Union as big as this be interested in helping securing the American workers retirement. Shouldn't they be asking the membership to help pass this issue. Shouldn't they GET THE WORD OUT.
Isn't that what GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DOES?

From their site
Quote:
The Government Affairs Department coordinates that activity — lobbying in Congress, testifying before congressional committees and federal agencies, coordinating with the White House and executive branch departments, working with joint councils and locals to create powerful advocacy programs at the local level, activating union members to meet or communicate with elected officials, backing up efforts by Teamsters to protect their interests in state capitols, and building political power.

COME ON FOLKS IS IT ME OR ARE WE GETTING SHORT CHANGED?
