Does anyone know if NWA mechanics decided to strike or not? I am dying to find out.
I hear that they have been training SCABs for months to take over the maintenance during a strike. _________________ Never let the 9 year old inside of you die! |

Well it looks like the mainstream media are catching on that the ontimes are going to shit.
Thing is they (non-maintenance types) don't understand that it(maintenance delays) will only increase as these airplanes are neglected and not properly maintained.
You know the company has planning and engineering running ragged looking to keep everything in the air!
Hold in there guys!
Don't give them the _________________

As you have indicatred, the main stream media is catching on, but do you think it will get worse with the "RUMORED" jet fuel shortage ?
also, do you feel that there even is a jet fuel shortage, or is this something that was manufactured to drive up prices even more ? _________________ Never let the 9 year old inside of you die! |

Well after a week Northwest I must admit is doing OK.
They (as far as the general public is concerned) are operating OK.
I still wouldn't be surprised if they file this month. From what I hear there are some bankruptcy changes that go into effect this month. It would be better for them to file prior to the changes.
I wouldn't be suprised if Delta takes advantage of the situation also.
The gas shortage is just a refinery problem and now the storm damage in gulf doesn't help matters.
You know that saying about placing all your eggs in one basket. Well we(US) put most of our refinery's in the gulf, and due to the tree huggers have not made any new ones in decades. They are operating at or above capacity. Every time one goes down for routine maintenance our pump prices go up.
To me it's all self induced. Hell from what I heard the so called shortage that is happing right now was self induced. The GD media made a mountain out of a mole hill saying there "COULD" be a shortage which everyone took as the truth and went out and hedged all they could. Hence we created it ourselves.
