One reason why this site is not very active is in the 'fact' that our livelihood is being outsourced to the lowest bidder.
Why should we as professional technicians give tips and clarification of complex procedures and repairs to 'dummy down' our profession further?
If we were all on a level playing field then this would not be an issue.
However, we are not (at least until we are 'ALL' AMFA!!!).

I would agree it would be interesting if all A&P's were in the same union like most pilots.
I don't necessarily know if AMFA is the one, but I still think it would be up to the membership to make or break a union regardless what they call themselfs.
The membership is the determining factor. If they are non active and pacifists then they will be screwed, If they are vocal, very active they will have a better contract and working environment.
I know if UAL was having a contract dispute and Northwest wasn't you think the guys at northwest would do anything but rejoice.
Sad as it is that mentality needs to change.
We need to band together some how.
This site would be a great avenue to do that. _________________
