The avalanche of UAL's chapter 11 filing is just begining as I had mentioned previously in one of my other post. Mesa Air Goup, INC. in PHX, just announced that it's asking it's employees to take a 5% pay cut for one year. And, of course AA and USAirways are already engaged in pay concessions from their employees. And, we're only just 48hrs. into the UAL announcement! anim_pissed.gif

Also, I mentioned the begining of a brutal price war about to take place. USA Today,
Quote:
Paul Whiteford, chairman of United's pilots union, said employees are prepared to "knock the crap out of the competition. We need to focus on keeping our customers."
My suggestion to all union members, in all work groups, is to stand strong and keep your eye on the ball. 2peace.gif

It's funny how things happen in life. It seems every time I get ahead with the bills and are able to stash some cash away all hell breaks loose and the savings go's right out the door. cryb.gif

It seems this is the same with the industry and nation for that matter. We were rolling right along in 2000-2001. The world was great. Everyone was making money. The Airlines were doing OK and it was looking good for all in aviation. Then nuke.gif ALL HELL BROKE loose.

Now 15 months later the reality is setting in. The ramifications of 9-11 are becoming real in the bankruptcy of the second largest airline on this planet.

Just as the events that occurred post 9-11 brought us closer as a nation and race so will the effects of UAL reorganizing cause us as a industry to bond together as a company and/or Union.

We all must work hard to achieve the new as of yet determined structure of the Airline Industry. It appears WWIII didn't occur in Iraq, but it's going to happen in the Airline Industry.

UAL will have a clean slate allowing them a great advantage over ALL others. Stand back boys and girls its going to get NASTY! skull.gif
