HOUSTON, August 25, 2005 – Wing Aviation is the first and only aviation service center to install Blended Winglets to both a Gulfstream II and Hawker aircraft simultaneously.
“We are excited about the opportunity to perform multiple installations,” said Brian P. Wing, president of Wing Aviation. “This simply continues to position our facility as a leading aviation service center and a natural choice for Blended Winglet technology.”
Blended Winglets are custom-built wingtips constructed to boost performance, reduce drag and increase fuel consumption efficiency. Studies show that the enhancements can improve fuel efficiency as much as 7 percent at speeds between Mach .75 and .80. Further, performance statistics show that IISP aircraft (Blended Winglet enhanced Gulfstream II aircraft) exhibit increased range of 210 nautical miles and a 30-knot increase in speed.
Performance Enhanced Technology for the Hawker 800 and Hawker 800XP, certified by the Federal Aviation Administration, and a Gulfstream II aircraft are designed and marketed by Aviation Partners Inc.
One of only four authorized installation facilities of Blended Winglet technology for non-commercial aircraft, and the only facility in Texas, Wing Aviation expects to complete the installations by mid-August.
